Cookies

Pintfind does not set any cookies when you browse pubs, search or view maps. There are no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and no third-party scripts that set them, so there is nothing to accept or decline.

The only cookie is pintfind_sess, which is set solely in the admin area when a site administrator signs in. It is strictly necessary to keep them signed in, expires when the browser closes, and is never set for visitors.

Fonts, styles and scripts are served from this website, not from Google or other third-party networks.

What we handle

• Searches. The pub name, town or postcode you type is used to show results. We do not link it to you or keep a search history.
• Postcodes and towns. To find pubs near a postcode or town, our server looks up its rough location with postcodes.io. Only the postcode or place name is sent, never your IP address. Answers are cached on our server for up to 30 days.
• Your location. “Pubs near me” only works if you allow it in your browser. Your phone’s position is sent once, in the search address, so the server can sort nearby pubs. It is not stored against you.
• Map tiles. Maps are drawn with images from the OpenStreetMap Foundation. Your browser requests these directly, so the Foundation sees your IP address, as described in its privacy policy. They do not set cookies.
• Server logs. Like any website, our host keeps short-term technical logs (IP address, page requested, browser type) to keep the site secure and working. These are kept for a limited time and are not used to profile visitors.

Legal basis

We handle this information under UK GDPR on the basis of legitimate interests: running a free, secure pub search. Location is only used when you choose to share it.

Your rights

You can ask what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing privacy@davex.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes

If Pintfind adds accounts, deals or anything else that needs cookies beyond the strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
